Tarik Dalton


Tarik Dalton is an experienced professional in the financial services industry, currently living in the Palm Beach Gardens area of Florida. He studied Economics and Philosophy at Columbia University for his undergraduate studies, building a strong foundation that prepared him well for his career trajectory. 

After spending a few years as an IT consultant in the financial services industry, he returned to academics to pursue his Master of Business Administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he is still involved as a member of the UNC Kenan-Flagler Board.

Once he had earned his MBA, Tarik Dalton dove headfirst into the financial services industry, working for over seven years with Credit Suisse as an analyst. He worked directly with stressed and distressed corporate credits, performing in-depth analysis with a focus on autos and industrials, lodging, leisure, and gaming. This role was an excellent start for him in the corporate finance industry, helping him build the skills he needed to continue to advance his career. Since then, he has moved through several other companies, working in various leadership roles and expanding his skill set.

Tarik Dalton’s next role was working as a senior advisor and director for the North Carolina Department of State Treasurer, specifically in the Retirement Systems Division. This role continued to build his skills in financial analytics. Additionally, his responsibilities included risk management, asset allocation, and strategy planning. This role came with large responsibilities and the management of massive funds. For example, Tarik was responsible for the investment of the State’s opportunistic capital, which totaled approximately two billion dollars. These investments included credit, volatility, systematic, and discretionary macro. He served on a variety of committees in this role as well.

After stepping away from working with the State Treasurer, Tarik Dalton explored several roles before landing his current position. He founded his own advisory firm called Prince Cameron Woods, where he advised alternative credit managers. Then, he spent a little over a year as the Managing Director of Silverback Asset Management, where he led all aspects of business development and investor relations and served on the management committee. Finally, he spent two years as the Head of Leveraged Finance Research at Goldman Sachs. There, he led a team of analysts.

Most recently, in 2023, Tarik Dalton joined Kennedy Lewis Investment Management LLC, providing credit analysis services, managing investments, and assisting in restructuring endeavors. He brings with him extensive experience in private credit, leadership, team management, financial analysis, and more. Tarik is excited to grow in this role and support the mission of the firm, providing his unique insights and expertise to help them grow and operate more efficiently.

Outside of his work, Tarik Dalton is involved in his community. He serves on the board of Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Triangle as well as the Underwood Gifted and Talented School Foundation. Additionally, he enjoys sports such as golf, tennis, and skiing in his leisure time.
